This ground holds memories for all those who call it home.
Faded denim jeans, pick up truck with a cooler in the back, dog wet from the beach. Wide fields, fresh cut grass, the sound of a crack from a baseball bat.
Hot sidewalk, dripping ice cream, fan on full blast.
4th of July always reminds me of childhood, maybe because I feel like a kid when I look up into the sky with wonder as it explodes in a kaleidoscope of colors. Too often I feel like my head is tilted downward, focused on the task at hand, staring at the computer, it's good to be grounded but I think it's important not to forget to look up every now and then with curiosity and an open mind to take in the vastness of our surroundings.
